Guest guest
Since tuna salad is usually considered a main dish, I am wondering if anyone had added some kind of protein like frozen tofu with added flavoring like kelp powder? As a vegetarian who has a gluten allergy, I get pretty sick of salads with no protein because that is what I " get to eat " @ most restaurants. Guest guest
I make something similar with lightly smashed garbonzo beans and a little dried kelp or nori which gives it a " oceany " taste. Guest guest
I just made a sandwich spread earlier so it can chill and meld overnight. I used garbanzo beans, finely diced celery and cuke, finely shredded carrot, a few artichoke hearts diced fine (left from a can I had opened and used in another meal), salt, garlic powder, dill, tumeric powder, mayo. I have some seaweed I just bought (my first time!), didn't think of adding that. I wasn't going for a mock tuna this time (although I have used the kelp powder in it before), maybe I'll throw some in!
