Guest guest
had a Doctor's apt not too long ago and had to run around like a mad woman lol, on the fly we decided to grab a bite to eat. I wasn't in the mood for pretty much anything so I decided on a salad. Now keep in mind I hate salads as a rule but this one day I was in a try everything once kind of mood so I did. I didn't put the dressing on because it looked fine the way it was and I'm not a huge fan of slathering stuff on my foods in general. Well needless to say I ate every bit and piece of the salad to my suprize. I was amazed to the point of actualy craving them. On the other hand my Daughter LOVES salads. I think she was a rabbit in another life LOL. Well she's always buying the " instant salads " from the grocery store. She eats them all the time and at times I had craved the salad from McD's but money is tight at times so I looked up the recipe to this specific salad's " coating " and it's rediculously easy to make. NOTE: The calories say 141 cals for 1/4 the entire recipe. I've made HUGE salads and didn't come close to useing 1/4. I use a shaker, that used to be heather's 8oz sippy cup, that snaps shut. (she got it because it looked handy to carry when she ran. it wasn't big enough). You will have to shake it up everytime you use it. It's consistancy is like the italian dressings from forever ago. Cilantro Lime Glaze Ingredients 1/2 cup honey (sometimes I add a tiny bit more to make it sweeter, but not much) 1/2 cup lime juice 2 tablespoons mustard (I use frenches yellow) 2 tablespoons cilantro (roughly chopped in food processor, I got the one in a shaker already chopped) 1/4 tablespoon dry rub seasonings (or any premix spice mixture with chiles, pepper, thyme, etc) Directions Blend honey, lime juice and mustard; add cilantro and rib rub. Serve at room temperature. (you might want to mix it in a bowl than put in a shaker) If you want the ingrediants to the McD's salad itself let me know I have that too.
