Guest guest
We aren't a medical group but I did want to say something. Do not assume the meds your doctors prescribe are safe. Please get all the info you can on them, make sure to read the side effects, visit message boards. One Lunestra (sp?) for sleep almost put my Mom in the hospital. She was sick for 3 days when the doc gave her a Xamax sample after her sister passed. Something the group doesn't know about me is......................... I teach terminal patients, (cancer and Aids) how to cook vegetarian meals and also cook with their medical marijuana when they can no longer inhale. These patients now have appetites, they are calm with no anxiety, they can sleep, and have decreased their meds by 1/3 to 1/2 now. I also have them incorporate sleep music and at night, and relaxing music throughout the day. The vegetarian diet has helped them too. Donna Barn's burnt down ....... now I can see the moon. Thursday, May 7, 2009, 7:11 AM This thread is very upsetting to me as a health practitioner - firstly, if you really feel a need to take allopathic medicine for sleep, there are other medicines available that are effective long term without these side effects - NONE OF WHICH SHOULD BE TAKEN FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME. Also, there is a big movement and much evidence to support getting Ambian off the market all together. Its adverse effects on brain chemistry have cause violent, self-destructive, and destructive behavior in some people. Secondly, there are benign methods available to get sleep patterns back to normal (with supervision) : 5HTP, L-Trytphan, valerian, Calcium-Magnesium before bedtime etc. Thirdly, get the bleepin' junk food and sugary, salty snacks out of the house - vegetarian or not, they ARE junk! A little " PM " yoga before bed also helps. Just my two cents. Shen Please consider the environment before printing this e-mail.
