Guest guest Posted May 7, 2009 Report Share Posted May 7, 2009 That's an interesting point of view. Personally, I don't feel that I've " given up " anything in going vegetarian. I do feel that my conscience is lighter, and I don't think that's necessarily selfless -- it makes me feel better about myself! I'd be interested to see whether other people on this list think being vegetarian means " giving up " meat or see it as a sacrifice of personal pleasure. It's certainly not for me. Now, if I were to not eat chocolate... oh boy would that be a sacrifice! (I don't like sacrificing my personal comfort and pleasure) And I know that is a very Western point of view. Audrey S.
