I just plunge it into the jar and blend, then pour out into a pot and add my seasonings. The best home made tomato soup I have ever had. Guest guest
I just love mine. I like to make split pea and barley soup and use it to semi puree the soup. It's so handy compared to messing around with the blender. Donna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird Sun, 2 Aug 2009 20:10:26 Immersion blender I used my immersion blender today for a frozen banana shake (a frozen banana, a little milk, and a little vanilla). It worked better than I thought it would, and so much less messy than getting out the big blender! Have not tried it with soup yet... It also came with a chopping bowl (that was a nice surprise!) -- I used it to do an onion (cut it up into 1/8ths first) and that worked perfectly. It pulverized my tomato, though -- not quite the consistency I wanted for pico de gallo! That's ok, though, I know it is not a food processor. I'm looking forward to using it to make tomato soup! Guest guest
You'll soon find you can't cook without it! Almost instant refried beans: can pintos, drained and save liquid, little garlic, hot sauce, whatever you like in them, mush up the beans with your immersion blender while it is in the pan, adding saved bean liquid as needed. At least making them yourself, you know what's in there and not get the big ICK mistake (mis-tick?) when you read the can after eating and discover lard. Blech. Velvet smooth gravies, creamed soups with no cream, iced coffee drinks, baby food... Hugs and nighty night, Jeanne in GA
Guest guest
That has to be my #1 favorite kitchen gadget. I use it a few times a week.
