Guest guest
I agree that parts of the south are the worst for vegetarians, but I have learned over the years [veggie since 1976] to avoid fast food and chain restaurants. I eat regularly in small privately owned restaurants or in restaurants who have good older women waitresses. You really need someone who knows food. Most staff are clueless, that is why you avoid fast food and chain restaurants. Kathleen

Guest guest
We have the veggie burger at our burger king in ga, and we also have a vegetarian indian restaurant, and a thai restaurant that uses meat substitutes. It's delicious. Hubby and I always go to a chinese restaurant that will make our food with veggie broth, and make a vegetarian gravy for egg fu yung. Guest guest
I cannot stand Cracker Barrel. For one reason, there are no vegetarian or meatless options except a plain salad and baked potato. The side of veggies (which I mistakenly thought would be safe one time) come doused in butter thereby overriding any value of the veggies. Should you dare ask for anything plain (without butter or dressing) they give you a look like you have two heads or worse - lol. So that is why they will never get my business and that applies to any restaurant along those lines. When I go out, I am hyper vigilant about the food. I order things as plain and simple as possible and inspect b4 I dig into it. One time at an Italian restaurant I asked them beforehand if their pasta soup had ANY meat in it and they said no it does not. When it arrived, I put my spoon in it and saw what looked like a meat product. So I called waiter over and said it looks like there is bacon or ham in here but you said there was no meat. I guess in his mind, bacon or ham is not meat? Since when? So now I will not go to that restaurant at all. There are those who understand and those who do not and thats just how it is and I must accept that. , " susanlindstrom16 " <susanlindstrom16 wrote: > > cracker barrel...ugh. i travel some for work and have a coworker who loves that place! i have been burned by their veggies but i do remember going there for lunch and being able to get pancakes. not sure if they do that for dinner though. >
