Christie, I love the idea of trying out two new recipes a week, and the

chickpea and tomato soup sounds wonderful. I would have never thought to

add ground almonds. Can you taste them as almonds, or do they just make

the soup richer? Thank you for sharing the recipe! I'm looking forward

to trying it. Peace, Mo

It's definitely a keeper.

Sorry for the delay in replying, Mo. I defrosted a bowl of the soup to have

for my lunch today so that I could reply! The almonds do make a difference

to the taste and texture. I couldn't taste them as almonds but the soup is

richer and has a fuller flavour.

I have so many cookery books and there are thousands of recipes in the group

files and yet I often end up making the same 10 or 12 meals. It seems a

waste not to get to enjoy different tastes and flavours, hence the decision

to try 2 new recipes per week. This week I went a bit mad and tried 5 new

recipes - two great recipes which will join the other in my repertoire, one

mediocre, one yummy but way too fattening and one completely vile and

inedible! I had a lot of fun doing it - even the inedible cookies were fun

to make :-)

Thank you, Christie! I love the sound of that soup. I also really like

your plan for trying new recipes every week. My partner and I tend to

fall in love with recipes, make them until we're in a rut, and then try

a whole bunch of new recipes until we have a new group of favorites

and the process begins again, so a little balance might be a good thing

:) It sounds like you're having a great time, too! Thanks again! Peace, Mo
