Guest guest
It is really gross how many things they sneak that and gelatin into isn't it. Yuck. Judy - Jeanne B ; Sunday, June 21, 2009 9:42 PM Sneaky meat product found You know how sometimes you really want something you know is bad for you? I was dying for a Hostess chocolate cupcake and my dear Carl bought a box so we could each have one and send the rest home to the grandkids. I was reading the ingredients list and found BEEF FAT in them. Beef fat????? What in the world? Is nothing sacred!? So those are off my list of ok foods. But darnit, what is next? Hostess Twinkies? Guess I'll be making chocolate cake tomorrow. I think a raspberry filling will be nice or a rich chocolate ganache or maybe I'll just make a chocolate pound cake. Carl and I are both eying the box of Hostess cupcakes but only the inclusion of beef fat is keeping us from ripping into them. Blech. Guest guest
plus, i love trader joe but they have broccoli with waterchestnuts in the frozen veg dept, and it contains fish sauce. ive asked them to move it to the vegs with sauces but since the main label just says broccoli and waterchestnuts, they keep it with the plain vegs. i've returned it with no problem, but it's a little annoying for those of us who don't eat fish! -- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ just posted: GLUTEN FREE SALTSTICK MINI BREADS http://www.wheatlessandmeatless.com +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Guest guest
AMEN!! My Sis cannot eat any shellfish and her husband bought that home for her, thinking she'd like it. She did like it until her throat swelled to the point they had to call the rescue squad and have her rushed to the hospital. IDIOTS!!! Thank heavens for epi pens. The ER doctor told them that had her husband not used her epi pen she would not have made it to the ER. It's enough to make a person want to scream, gnash teeth and say truly naughty words. Guest guest
I know. Most of those Hostess cake things have it. A couple of months ago I bought a Hostess coffee cake out of the vending machine at work. Idly looking at the ingredients, I found the same thing -- I had eaten half of one, threw the rest away. Wasn't hungry anymore...! Audrey S. On Sun, Jun 21, 2009 at 9:42 PM, Jeanne B <treazured wrote: > > > You know how sometimes you really want something you know is bad for you? Guest guest
yuck, again a junk food, but baked BBQ Lays have chicken broth and some pringles products have pork extract! On a road trip I picked up Pringles sticks because they said low fat and was munching and reading! Yuck! >
Guest guest
Yes, I found " chicken fat " as an ingredient in baked BBQ lays, too. I have learned to read the complete list of ingredients before I buy. Lays Kettle Cooked BBQ chips are wonderful, and have no animal ingredients. Not good for you, of course, but they satisfy a craving once in a while! I've found that a lot of frozen meals that look vegetarian (don't have meat in them) contain gelatin and/or chicken fat. Weight Watchers frozen cheese pizza has gelatin in it for some reason. Audrey S. Guest guest
Are you serious? There's chicken fat in BBQ Lays? I am so glad you all are bringing these up. Is there a web site that has other products listed? If not, that would be a great thing for someone to put together.
