Guest guest
Just finished making these and was quite pleased with the results.  I got 11 decent sized patties.  Unless you have a serious aversion to poultry seasoning, use it.  Imparts a nice flavor.  I made the recipe as is, but you could pretty much add whatever you choose....shredded carrots, flax seeds, oatmeal...the possibilities are endless.  2 cups brown lentils 2 1/2 cups water + 1 veggie bouillon cube 1 cup grapenuts cereal 1 envelope dry onion soup mix 1/2 tspn poultry seasoning 2 beaten eggs 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup bread crumbs (plain or seasoned)  I used Panko Seasoning to taste (garlic powder, parsley, pepper, etc.) Olive oil for frying Cook lentils in water and bouillon cube until tender and able to be mashed (about 30 minutes or so) Drain, cool and mash. Add remaining ingredients.  If mixture seems too dry add a little milk, water, catsup, etc. until you attain the right consistency to form into patties.  Let mixture stand for about half an hour. Form into patties and fry in olive oil until brown.  Watch them!  They can burn very easily.
