Guest guest
I can't remember who sent a great recipe in response to my request for Egg Drop Soup -- but it was very good. I made it with vegetable broth the first time, like the recipe called for. The other day at Whole Foods, I found Not Chick'n boullion, and remembered that someone (Judy?) had recommended it. So I made Not Chick'n broth and used that for Egg Drop Soup, and made a second batch at the same time, with vegetable broth. The Not Chick'n soup was better, more like what I remembered it tasting like at restaurants (but better!) There were just too many flavors in the veggie broth that distracted from the egg flavor, I think. I buy free range brown eggs and I have never liked eggs better than now -- I'm going to have to find someone that has their own chickens and sells eggs, I bet they'd be even better fresh! And -- so, the Not Chick'n boullion is good stuff! Not too salty, either, at least not in egg drop soup. I have the Not Beef boullion, too, but haven't tried it yet. I may add it to chili this week... lots of plans! Audrey S.
