Guest guest
Sorry for an off topic post but given all the horrid weather many of us on the list have experienced recently, this might lift spirits. The daffodils, tulips dogwoods and hyacinths bloomed three weeks ago and the robins made their obligatory visit here before heading north. Three of my roses are in bloom, John Kennedy (white), Tropicana (salmon) and an old species rose which was used as root stock for a hybrid rose. It has small, very aromatic roses with a pink bloom and will bloom most of the summer. I think of it as my Sleeping Beauty rose because it has the most lethal thorns, in great abundance, just like the rose bushes encircling the castle where she slept. All of my roses take a little nap in the hottest months, August and September, and some bloom again at the end of September. Today I saw the first blue birds and cardinals have made a nest on our front porch. We've already eaten a couple dinners of yellow squash and tomatoes and everything else is coming along beautifully. Take heart, summer isn't far behind. Jeanne in GA (Southwestern GA where it is hot and fire ants abound)
