Guest guest
As if last week wasn't bad enough, we are getting belted now. It started around 4, it is 6 now and 3 to 4 inches have already fallen. Guest guest
Oh I feel for all those that don't have power or water doing all of this freezing weather there in KY. This morning, a local newscaster said that his brother is in KY and has been without power and water for 1 week. The water pipes have frozen. Can't even imagine. Guest guest
Marilyn, were you without electric? We were for 4 days. We were supposed to be without water as well but still had it. Our line from the main road is 1/2 mile long, so we still had water in the line. The pumping station had no electric, so some were just without water and others both. We have woodburning stoves. We put potatoes in there, and cooked a little and boiled water on top of kerosene heaters. We had peanut butter and bread. The morning the electric came back on I asked my husband if he wanted peanut butter and bread again, to which he asked if he could have it toasted this morning. I know there are still plenty without electric and water, but I don't think in this county - Carter, but I know there are some just two counties over. I found out that Marilyn just lives the next town over. So hopefully by spring we can get together for a vegetarian meal. Jerri P.S. I made a small video for my husband for Valentines and put it on youtube. I gave it to him as soon as I made it, couldn't wait.
Guest guest
We never lost power. And we also got another 6 to 8 inches last night, so we are confined again. The kids will go to school into July to make up for the lost days. All our poles and cables and wires are new from the ice storm we had in, I think, 2004. Sorry you lost yours. I cooked everything in the last ice storm on my kerosene heaters. I was eating everything, fried eggs, toast, French toast, and of course, peanut butter!!
