Guest guest
Our sweet Judy sent me a box with various Worthington canned products. What a wonderful surprise it was. I opened the Big Franks and the Veja-Links so far. They are wonderful. I'm a little bit more partial to the Big Franks, hint more flavor but this all depends on how you are going to serve them. The Veja-Links are wonderful in a bun with all the fixings. I froze some and they heat up just fine from the freezer. I highly recommend them and I thank Judy again for her love, hard work within the group and kindness. Donna
Guest guest
You're very welcome Donna. I enjoy being a part of this group and helping out. Thanks for your feedback on these products. I'm so glad you enjoyed these two different vegetarian hot dogs. They are both unique with distinctive flavors that are delicious. We love them both. They are both wonderful sliced up some Bush Vegetarian Baked Beans. You can saute them and some onions before adding to the baked beans if you want, but it isn't necessary. They sure do freeze up nicely, so if you won't eat them with in a 4-5 days, that is what I would do. You can use some wax paper to weave in between each one, for making it easy to just remove one from the freezer when ready. Then just drop it in a zip lock bag and put in the freezer. Freeze the left over broth in a zip loc bag, for using to make gravy to go with mashed potatoes. Here are some other ways we use the Vega-links and Big Franks that others might enjoy trying. Vegelinks and Big Franks are great just heated in a covered pot in their broth. Then serve on a bun with toppings of choice. Also great to make a sandwich spread with. To do this, mash them up, stir in some veganaise, some dill pickle relish, diced onions and serve either some saltine crackers or on some nice hearty whole wheat bread. Another idea that we enjoy, is to slice them up in rounds and cook with some steam fried Red potatoes and onions. You can also slice them up in rounds and brown in a little oil in a hot frying pan. Then add some sliced bell peppers and onions and stir fry that into the browned vegelinks or big franks slices. When tender crisp add a little lawry's seasoned salt and enjoy! Guest guest
Aren't those great?? I tried the Veja-links first, and was really happy -- then found the Big Franks and I like them even better. I had craved hot dogs since I went vegetarian, and the Big Franks are the best!! I haven't tried any of the other canned Worthington products, Judy seems to like the Fry-chik, so I think I'll try that next. Audrey S. Guest guest
Don't forget that the special pricing on $75 worth of Worthington products ($25 off, plus free shipping) is still available on Amazon. We got a case each of Big Franks and Fri-chik. The Big Franks are amazingly like m*at hot dogs, and really delicious with our homemade sauerkraut. Haven't tried the Fri-chik yet. ~ irene > Aren't those great?? I tried the Veja-links first, and was really > happy -- > then found the Big Franks and I like them even better.
