Guest guest
Hi, The spices and the food preparations vary as in different parts of India. you can actually try following things, as per your taste. Paneer bhurji, (bit spicy) Palak paneer (Palak means Spinach) Hydrabadi sabji (quite spicy) Malai Kofta (sweetish) Navratna Korma (sweetish) Dal Makhanwala (bit spicy) You can have these vegetables (called subjies in India) with special Bread. The kind of breads you would get are: Butter Naan Butter Roti Kulcha Garlic/onion Naan You can also try Biryani- rice preparation. Other then this you can try South Indian Food. Like Idli sambhar, Masala Dosa, Uttapam. Also, dishes like Pav Bhaji ( spicy and tasty vegetables served with bread), chole Bhature (Chickpeas with Special Bread) tastes nice. I would like to suggest you on thing. If you are trying out Indian dishes for first time go to a Buffet where you can try different dishes at the same time. Once u come to know what things u liked, you can order them in ur subsequent visit. Do try sweet dishes like Gulab jamun, Ras malai, Shrikhand, Halwa.-- this is if u have sweet tooth like i have Enjoy!! --- On Tue, 7/4/09, judith bell <judithb wrote: judith bell <judithb Re: Audrey - Indian food suggestions Tuesday, 7 April, 2009, 1:00 AM saag aloo or saag paneer [if you eat cheese] This is my favorite Indian dish...saag is spinach.
