Hi Mrs. Fabulous!

I used to live in Hattiesburg and went to Southern!  I love Hattiesburg!  It is

really a nice little town.  The people are so friendly.

My favorite vegetarian restaurant in Jackson, MS.  is Rainbow Coop.  They serve

delicious vegan food.  hmmmmm   Nothing quite like it - even in Chicago.  :)

Love,

Addy

Any veggie recommendations in Jackson, MS

New Orleans

Memphis, TN

Mobile, AL

Biloxi or Gulfport, MS

Pensacola , Florida

Atlanta, GA

Hattiesburg, MS

Or any of the surrounding areas?

Approaching my 3rd year in Hattiesburg " HUB " city, Mississippi...

In Jackson, MS: love the veggie burgers @ Cool Als and being able 2 get brown

rice on the road from P.F.Changs.

In Mobile there is a Mexican spot on Airport Blvd with veggie fajitas

In New Orleans there is cafe Bamboo with the burbon chicken and redbeans and

rice and all the middle eastern spots ESPECIALLY Pyramids Cafe for tabouli,

lentil soup, hummus, ... And there is Surey's for organic eggs and fresh juice

and Slim Goodies for a BIG breakfast that can include tempeh " bacon " ..

Here in Hattiesburg, I loved when New Yokel had their big Sat breakfast and

still LOVE their salad bar.  And @ the Caliente grille the bean & veggie burrito

or quesidilla. And the chef-made veggie burger @ Brownstones. And the chef-made

black bean burger @ Sidelines is good, too.

In Atlanta (and Chicago) I have a compulsion to eat @ Soul vegetarian.

That is what I love about this loop - all the vegetarian Southerners.

I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi.  Although I do love Chicago - I miss the

South and Southern cooking!  <vegetarian of course>  :)

Addy,

I never heard of Hattiesburg or usm untill I got here and they are well known to

sooo many folks! It is a nice little town, isn't it?

Yeah we LOVE hign noon cafe @ rainbow, too. (It is very hit or miss whether we

make it to Jackson around noon and can catch it b4 it closes...Way more misses

than hits.)

What are some of your fave spots in chi-town?

Peace, gela

Gela,

How long have you lived in Hattiesburg?

There are SO many good restaurants here that it is hard to chose!  I like

Ethiopian Diamond Restaurant ( it has won awards for its vegetarian cooking ),

Lake Side Cafe, and Brother Tim's for vegetarian food.  I also enjoy going to

Devon and getting authentic Indian food.  There are always vegetarian options,

but it is usually very spicy!
