Guest guest
Whooo wee, I am so the wrong person to answer this since I own one, count 'em, one pair of shoes, and they are plastic. BUT the reason I am answering it is to encourage you to make certain both shoes fit well and are comfortable since no amount of wearing is going to break in a pair of plastic shoes. UGH. Saying that, another big plus in buying non-leather shoes is that you can wear them in the rain, slog through puddles and not worry about the leather stretching or shrinking or whatever. Mine are by Okabashi, are cheap and so far have lasted me since the last century. The pair I had before these was also Okabashi, but a softer plastic material which were lovely to walk in. Hope this helps, Jeanne in GA
Guest guest
I get mine from www.veganchic.com In a message dated 6/1/2009 9:46:20 A.M. I bought some from Steve Madden and they're falling apart in less than a month. Any websites that are flexible about returning shoes that don't fit? (I'm also going to look on ebay for the leather brand and size I used to buy, maybe somebody bought the wrong size and wore them enough to scuff up the bottoms or something...s Thanks, Audrey [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] **************An Excellent Credit Score is 750. Guest guest
Flip flops? Crocs? Karo ---- Donnalilacflower 6/2/2009 8:34:37 AM OT: non-leather pumps? Well Mark. What do you suggest, bare feet? Donna
Guest guest
It is hard to avoid all shoes, because they have one thing or another that uses some form of animal or plastic in it. I don't buy shoes online. I have to try them on and walk around in them to see how they fit and the comfort level. I've yet to find a vegan friendly shoe store that you walk into and try on shoes. It is important to get comfortable shoes. Our feet have to last a lifetime of carrying us around, so I get what supports and takes good care of my feet. That is most important. Guest guest
But, I love my Crocks! Ok......let's see.....I have some gaitas (sp) that are about 58 years old that we brought back from Japan when I was a baby....they are woven of bamboo and have metal taps on the bottoms and velvet toe tongs to hold them on......would that work? Guest guest
I lucked out last year and found two pairs of shoes at Ross that appeared to be veg. Can't swear that they are but looks like all handmade materials. I throw them in the washing machine once a week or so. But they are wearing out so I went back to Ross last weekend hoping for find more but no such luck. Sigh. I agree - it's hard to order shoes by mail. My feet are hard to fit and with them being so expensive I just can't afford to do it. So keep looking locally and doing the best I can. My dream is to open a store here, with vegetarian & vegan " stuff " of all kinds.
