Guest guest
Not a connoisseur, but of the ones I have tasted I really like the Bulgarian feta. The danish and French are very creamy and I find them to have too high a fat content for my taste. The Greek feta I tasted was a bit too salty for me, so the Bulgarian tastes just right to me. Of course taste is subjective! Sometimes at delis they will cut a little piece and let you taste the different ones, same with olives. If you have the chance try the Kashkaval cheese (Bulgarian also) it is made from sheep's milk, I find it very good. I have to warn folks though, that I much much prefer cheeses made from sheep or goat milks than cow milk, so again, everybody's taste is different. , Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird wrote: > > I stopped to the Turkish deli down the street on my way home from work to > get falafel, and I noticed he had two kinds of feta cheese, French and > Bulgarian. Guest guest
I have actually never had goat's cheese. Is it more likely that I'll like goat's cheese or sheep's cheese since I like feta? (I do not like blue cheese or gorgonzola, though). I'm definitely going to have to taste-test all of the feta I can get my hands on! Audrey S. Guest guest
I never even knew there was all these kinds of Feta, Audrey. I love Feta Cheese, especially on a salad. I think what I've had is the Greek! Judy - Audrey Snyder Monday, April 27, 2009 6:20 PM Feta! I stopped to the Turkish deli down the street on my way home from work to get falafel, and I noticed he had two kinds of feta cheese, French and Bulgarian. I asked him what the difference was, and he said the French was less salty and creamier. I think feta should be salty and crumbly, and he said that's what the Bulgarian was like, and it's his favorite. He said he also carries Greek feta and Turkish feta. Anybody a feta connoisseur? Guest guest
Feta is one of my favorite types of cheese! I don't like gorgonzola or bleu cheese, though. I found some POWDERED feta while I was on vacation and got a little bit...I wish I had bought all they had! It is so good on popcorn!! , Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird wrote: > > I have actually never had goat's cheese. Is it more likely that I'll like > goat's cheese or sheep's cheese since I like feta? Guest guest
I bet it was good on popcorn -- you didn't even have to add salt, did you? That sounds really good... I'll bet you could find an online store that would ship it to you. Audrey S. On Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 12:50 PM, jackiwolfe <jwolfe417 wrote: > > > Feta is one of my favorite types of cheese!
