Guest guest
Not exactly a recipe....but since we are talking about nasturtiums and about caper substitutions... I grow a lot of nasturtiums around different veggie beds. All parts are edible, the flowers are the best known, but did you know the leaves and the seeds are also edible? The leaves have a spicy horseradishy type of taste, a little bit goes a long way, but nice as an herb more than as a veggie. One use for the seeds is to pickle them and use as a substitute for capers. I have read about it but not tried it yet. I should when I get enough seeds. One plant produces a lot of seeds for me, you have to watch them, they volunteer and want to take over, but easy to trim back.
