Guest guest Posted July 12, 2009 Report Share Posted July 12, 2009 Mushrooms Royale 500 gr (1 lb.) medium mushrooms 3 tablespoons butter ¼ cup finely chopped green pepper ¼ cup finely chopped onion 1 ½ cups soft bread crumbs ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon thyme ¼ teaspoon turmeric ¼ teaspoon pepper 1 tablespoon butter Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Wash, trim and dry mushrooms thoroughly. Remove stems; finely chop enough stems to measure 1/3 cup. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in skillet. Cook and stir chopped mushroom stems, green pepper and onion in butter about 5 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat; stir in remaining ingredients except mushroom caps and 1 tablespoon butter. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a shallow baking dish. Fill mushroom caps with stuffing mixture; place mushrooms filled side up in baking dish. Bake 15 minutes. Broil in oven for 2 minutes.
