Hahaha. I never hid anything. If my sister didn't eat her food I would eat it

for her when my Mom's back was turned. I was always hungry.

Donna - hiding icky food

Loved the story about your cousin hiding fish inside her doll!

I used to hide pieces of meatloaf and pork chops (always petrified, my

mother's specialty!) under the table, where there was kind of a shelf thing,

under the removable leaf. I also got rid of green beans that way, after I

found that they would float in a glass of milk. :( They always knew to check

our napkins, so we had to get creative. :)

Donna,

When you wrote " I was always hungry " . it reminded me of myself when

I was young. I would have never dreamed of leaving even a tiny morsel

on my plate. It seemed like I was always hungry and there was never

enough to eat. It was pure heaven to go to grandma's house because

she sometimes served canned peaches. I don't recall ever having fresh

fruit or vegetables for a meal and I never knew there was such things

as herbs and spices. Now that I have you all feeling sorry for me,

LOL, I survived and soon learned that food does not come from a can.

I've had such fun trying every kind of food I can get my hands on and

I love being a Vegetarian. Oh yes almost forgot. My first taste of a

fresh peach was at our little local grocery store on the corner. I

took a big bite out of one and put it back on the shelf. If Mr.

Grahec knew about it he never said a word. Bless his heart.

Now my favorite thing is to grow herbs so I can experiment making

meals from scratch.

There isn't a fruit or vegetable that I don't like.

Life is just way too much fun sometimes

Sending smiles and hugs your way

Alas, our napkins would be checked also....and we had to sit at the

table til we ate everything, like it or not. On liver nights, I cut it

into 1/8 " cubes, buried each cube in a heap of mashed potatoes so I

could swallow it without chewing.

Cyndy,

My daughter disliked peas with a passion. I would place just one pea on

her plate as a joke and she would swallow it whole as if it were a

pill. Now as a grown up mommy herself she loves peas.
