Guest guest
Not all yogurt brands contain gelatin. Check out several organic brands. Also several types of cheese that do not include rennet. I didn't eat yogurt, cheese , eggs, butter, etc. for years but now find some excellent organic products . A note: please consider free range , organic eggs. There are several brands that advertise " cage free, vegetarian fed, no animal by products, no antibiotics, and no hormones. I buy Grade A large , organic at apx. $3.50 per doz. And to boot the carton is recycled and biodegradable Deanna in Colorado
Guest guest
Sounds good, thanks! I'll have the seeing eye husband person read labels for me when we go shopping. We are fortunate to have customers that farm, so our milk, butter and eggs come from cows and chickens that have names, wander the homestead and come up to humans for treats. They sell the eggs for a dollar a dozen. You should see the yolks. They are huge and deep gold and the whites barely spread out. I'm considering getting some hens but we'll have to build a strong yard for them as we have lots of critters around here that like eggs as much as we do. For lunch today I had a deviled egg on a bed of baby greens with a lemon/olive oil dressing. Yum. The eggs are about the size of what an extra large grade AA used to be. I want a cow too, but Carl draws the line there. He says I'd end up letting it come in the house and giving her a name. How absurd! I'd let her come into one of the cat houses and her name would be Bessie. But I wouldn't let her come in the living room! Jeanne in GA and goats and sheep and I want a burro and mule and and and and.... --- On Thu, 2/26/09, genny_y2k <genny_y2k wrote: genny_y2k <genny_y2k Yogurt , Cheese , Eggs, etc. Thursday, February 26, 2009, 1:07 PM Not all yogurt brands contain gelatin. Guest guest
They sounds like great farm friends, Jeanne. I'd like to find a farm like that. I was getting milk from a friend's cow named Bessie, but her husband said they couldn't afford her any more ( so sad. The eggs I get now, veggie-fed pasture raised, are $4 a dozen! Like you, I want to get some chickens, a cow, a goat, a pig, etc, etc... Cheryl , Jeanne B <treazured wrote: > > Sounds good, thanks!
