But, I wanted to respond to the posts re:Stainless steel rice cookers. In India, they mainly use stainless steel pressure cookers. As a kid, I remember my mother and grandmother using those pressure cookers to make rice as well (white rice and brown rice) - with great success. I would recommend going to an Indian grocery store and seeing what's available. Whenever we go to LosAngeles, we always make a stop in Artesia (Pioneer and 183rd or so)/Little India, and shop for those type of items. Hope that helps.
