Guest guest
Oh Jeanne, I feel your heat here to in Alabama with Heat Index's of 109 here, for next 3 days in a row.. It been about 105 heat index for over 2 weeks now, every day. We are under high pressure system now for about 2 weeks that is letting no relief inside for those of under it's dome, in parts of the SE. Thank God for AC, here in the SE USA. I don't know how we would survive. I'm outside watering my gardens every morning before 9a.m. right now, so my plants and landscape make it. Guest guest
I can't imagine that kind of heat, Judy. Summer is shaping up to be another non-event here this year - tomorrow we are set for a high of 17C/63F. We've had some sunshine but it always seems to be accompanied by a cold wind. I'm still cooking loads of soups and stews to try to keep warm - salads and raw foods seem like a most unappetising prospect in this weather. Guest guest
Want to know what is really bad? I got into the pool this morning for my morning exercises and the water was too hot to be refreshing. It is more like a bath. Guess it is time to get that neat solar powered fountain to float around the pool. At least with it the water will be cooled a bit at night. Heaven knows we have enough sunlight to fill the storage batteries! I couldn't even convince the dogs that it was time to go for their usual walk. Toby has parked his backside in front of the air conditioner and only moved once to fill up on a gallon of water. He doesn't even want food. Maybe he'll have some cold cooked beans and rice tonight. (All of the animals love beans and rice.) Ursula won't go out, either. Sophie went out, stopped right off the back porch, turned around nd came back in. She gave me the " Are you freaking nuts? " look, like it was my fault. Lord I hope Toby doesn't use the cats' litter box tonight. Big dog, big bladder. The cats get so offended. Too too too hot and it isn't even summer yet. Guest guest
I hear ya Jeanne! Our dog seems offended that I expect her to eat - get up and leave that shady spot?! I'm tempting to go swimming today, even if it means hiking thru poison ivy to get there. Cyndy (in GA)
