Tortilla Torte

Since we're talking tortillas I thought you might like to try this very unusual

and tasty Torte made with flour tortillas.

 

T & T means I've made it and it is so different and a surprise when served.

 

Tortilla Torte

 

1 12 oz. pkg. of chocolate chips

2 8 oz.cartons (*less 1/2 cup) dairy sour cream

* reserve this 1/2 cup sour cream for the dollop topping.

 

In a med. size sauce pan or double boiler melt the chocolate chips , stirring

occasionally. Remove from heat and slowly stir in the sour cream.

Cool

 

10 8 in. flour tortillas

Place one tortilla on a decorative serving platter

Spread apx. 1/3 cup of the chocolate mixture on top of the tortilla.

Repeat with all 10 tortillas

 

Topping

In a small mixing bowl stir together the 1/2 cup reserved sour cream plus 2

Tablespoons powdered sugar.

Dollop this mixture on top of the Torte

*Cover and chill for several hours or overnight

*I covered mine with a large bowl so as not to scrape the dollops

 

Before serving garnish with fresh strawberries

Serves 8-10

wow this sounds so good and easy. It must be pretty too. Do you ever serve it

with berries on the top?
