There are wonderful products on the market, such as tofu " hot dogs " & bar-b-q'd tofu that don't remotely resemble the plain tofu that is served in Asian dishes such as miso soup. There are also many varieties of veggie burgers. Some are made with grains, some with soy products. There are garden burgers, California burgers, Mexican style, Japanese style & Indian style. Try a different brand of veggie burger with sliced heirloom tomato & grilled onions or a tofu hot dog on a wheat bun with pickles & your favorite mustard. Deee-licious.
