OT: Diana, oleo

I forwarded this thread to Grandma (yes, she's online at least 2 hours a

day!) She said they used oleo on the farm only in the " off season " when they

didn't have enough cream to make butter, and they didn't like it much, and

imagine how things change that we use it now all of the time and don't know

the difference (maybe she doesn't - I do! I discovered how much

better baking is with real butter a couple of years ago!) She has also

talked before about having a girl friend who worked at Montgomery Ward

in Topeka, Kansas either during or right after the war, who would put aside

a pair of stockings for Grandma when they came in. Important stuff! :)

My cousin was  in the army stationed in England. He asked those of us at home to

send stockings for the ladies and candies for the children. :>) He loved the

English people.
