Clint:

I became a vegetarian about 18 years ago, and I would say until maybe the

last 5 I experienced the same. I don't get as many questions about it as I

did in the early days--I guess there are more of us around now.

My father to this day really thinks it's a sign of wealth to eat meat. Funny

thing is his stepmother was sort of a vegetarian. She didn't eat a lot of

meat, and she told them not to eat white bread because it " stays in your

stomach " . Anyway, welcome. I hope you like it here. There are a TON of

recipes! I think it'll take me 10 years to go through all of them :-)

HI I' a 56 year old vegetarian (lacto ovo) not a lot of eggs. Sometimes

I can't even stand them. I love cheese and other mild products! I was

raised vegetarian. My mother thought it was a GOD thing she ate some

" bad " salmon as a child. She and her whole family took that as a sign

from GOD. I don't think the same as them, I just never had the urge or

desire to change.

It wasn't easy growing up. In our era you were teased about not being

American if you didn't eat hamburgers or hotdogs.
