Guest guest
My daughter's graduation party was Saturday, and it was fantastic! Well over 100 guest came (we stopped counting at 140) bearing gifts, love, and the most amazing variety of VEGETARIAN meals that I have ever seen. Thanks for your insights they were put to good use and it worked. We made a note on her invite that if anyone wanted to bring a dish that it would be appreciated, but the guest of honor is a vegetarian so please bring a dish that she could enjoy. Everyone did just that. There was not one meat dish in the bunch! We also put out ingredient cards so that people could read what was in the dish, it worked for the first few waves of people, but by the time things were in full swing, we were just hunting for places to put the food. It was noted and appreciated by the guests I just wish we could have kept it up. It was very good to hear people's reaction to the food and to see young and old alike enjoying their Veggie Day. People were stuffed and happy. So many parents stated that their kids NEVER eat vegetables and these were the same kids that were loading their plates with food and coming back for more. One girl told me if her Mom's vegetables tasted like these she would eat them. Many families have decided to adopt a few veggie days a week- her family being one of them. I told them about the group and shared some of our favorite recipes with them. I just wanted to thank you all, your insights and wisdom helped to make what could have been a very awkward situation a very happy memory for all of us.
