I never heard of them before I moved to Idaho. I use them to make pesto (very garlickey) or add them to stir fry. I never put them in hummus but that soulds like a good idea. Around here we find them at the farmer's market the end of June - the first of July. Now I'm hungry! I'd better get some scape pesto out of the freezer. It is a long way until spring!
