I had a bad outbreak of shingles many years ago. I believe the book was called Prescription for Nutritional Healing. None of the suggestions worked until I convinced my doctor to prescribe injections of B12 (the amounts were in the book). The first day there was some relief and they were totally gone within four days. For several years, every time I felt the tingling signaling an outbreak, he would prescribe the injections. After five or six such events, they did not come back. The oral B12 had no effect but I used it between the times I used the injections and still take it today and feel it prevents future outbreaks.
