Guest guest
Can someone share a recipe for vegan pie crust that they know & love? Also, favorite recipes for pie crust that use butter as well. Tips for making the perfect crust, etc. I recently bought a pre-made pie crust in the supermarket. Besides some weird ingredients, I did not like the taste. It's been a while since I've made pie, but now I'm obsessed! I made Swiss Chard quiche last week, and it was divine, except the store-bought crust was a little weird to my vegetarian taste buds. Now, I'd like to try to make vegan vegetable & fruit pies. I've had vegan store-bought pies from Whole Foods from a company called Fabe's, and the crusts are absolutely fantastic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
This crust is one my mother has always used. I simply switched to soy milk to make it vegan. 2 cups unbleached organic flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup canola or safflower oil 1/4 cup cold soy or rice milk Stir salt and flour together. Combine oil with milk and add all at once to dry ingredients. Mix until it forms a ball. Makes two crusts.
