In the dessert folder there is a pie recipe folder and inside are some wonderful pie crust recipes posted by members. I have tried a few of them and they all turned out perfect. The store bought crusts almost alwayas have lard in them. It's been a while since I've made pie, but now I'm obsessed! I made Swiss Chard quiche last week, and it was divine, except the store-bought crust was a little weird to my vegetarian taste buds. > > Now, I'd like to try to make vegan vegetable & fruit pies. Guest guest
I make my pie crust from the betty crocker cookbook, i usually do the pat in the pan crust, its just flour salt and oil. The best pie crust I have ever made though is made using flour, cold butter, ice water and a little apple cider vinegar. I saw it on a cooking show and it turned out fabulous. The trick to a flaky crust is not to let the butter get warm, so dont handle the dough much. Anyway this is my suggestion. Cherie
Guest guest
This is a very good recipe. I won't part with my Betty Crocker cookbooks.
