Guest guest
Its coffee with protein powder added. I take a scoop of protein powder, add enough soy milk to turn it into a paste, then add my coffee. It's a gastric bypass trick. Most of us do this because pouches are really grumpy in the morning but we have to get our protein in. I do it every morning. I also have a collection of sugar free syrups to add as well. I have the whole coffee barista thing going on so I don't get bored with it. Guest guest
That's what I do, too! After my first cup of sanity with vanilla protein powder, I'll get solid food going into the gut. I've got a failed Fobi gastric pouch that caused more problems than I can list. Generally, add " itis " to everything about the GI system, and other amusements. Have you ever tried sprinkling protein powder over plain Cheerios and munching it through the day as a crunchy snack food? I love it and it gives me a serving of protein as well as fiber. Off to bed, hugs to all, Jeanne in GA
Guest guest
So nice to see another bypass patient. I had the Fobi as well. I didn't have any problems. There are just some foods that don't sit well with me or easily get stuck. I also tend to have some issues with reactive hypoglycemia. Im sorry you've had so much trouble. That's no fun at all. I haven't tried the cheerios trick. Hmmm. I think I will. Thanks for the tip!!! Melissa On Behalf Of Jeanne B Thursday, July 09, 2009 10:05 PM RE: what is protein coffee? That's what I do, too!
