Guest guest
Lol, I definitely had a queasy moment there. I think I might try making them into circles or something else less cutletty next time They taste like seiten, which doesn't taste meaty to me, but I know it does to others, so I'm not sure if I'm a great judge. The cutlets are thin, chewy, and taste more like the herbs and paprika than the other ingredients. You've probably been through this already, but could vital wheat gluten be available near you by another name? According to foodsubs.com, it's also called gluten flour, instant gluten flour, and pure gluten flour. I don't remember what I bought the vital wheat gluten for, but I've seen it in bread and (quick) seiten recipes. I'd be happy to send you some to try if you want christie_0131 wrote: > Thanks for this link and review, Mo. I'm not sure that I could face making them if they look meaty, LOL! Do they taste meaty as well? I see they contain vital wheat gluten. That is not something that is readily available over here - even in my local whole food store they looked at me as if I was mad when I inquired about it so I would have to order it over the internet. What else would you use it for? I don't want to order something that is only used in one recipe. > TIA > Christie > > , Maureen <ailanthus wrote: > >> I've forgotten who it was that I was chatting with about wanting to try >> the chickpea cutlet recipe from Veganomicon, but I finally tried the >> recipe today and, wow, is it ever good!!
