I belong to an interfaith group and from what I understand, avoid all root

vegetables and onions, garlic and chiles, which are considered too stimulating

and they root vegs may have animal life on them.

We have had several " potlucks " and these are the criteria passed on to us.

It is a lovely and complex religion that promotes ultimate respect for all life

forms.

U can make currys with black, red beans, chick peas and black eye pea by sauting

tomatoes in oil and putting red chilly powder salt turmeric if u have and little

bit cumin powder. They dont eat any vegetables or leafy vegetables and some even

dont use any type of peppers or cilantro. I hope this helps u.
