Guest guest
My email address is Petagoatjunction. This is aftr our farm name: Pet-a-goat junction. We do goat rescue. I was horrified one time when someone thought it stood for Peta goat junction. I guess I should have found a way to add the dashes. Guest guest
Oh!! A goat rescue! Do you have a website? That is a dream my husband and I have had since we moved into our own home. We only have 1½ acres so we couldn't do much. We would love to rescue goats and chickens (and a donkey or two). We've had goats for 13 years now. Currently we have two old Pygmy goat wethers that we got from a farm animal rescue/sanctuary. The boys are now at least 12 years old, and getting pretty crippled in their old age. The black one, Phillip has really awful knees. The vet said they just crackled when he examined him. Somehow he still gets around. mouse
Guest guest
No, no website. In fact we have had to stop taking rescues for awhile because of the price of hay. We didn't start out wanting to do a rescue. My goal was to have a herd of angoras so I could shear and make back some money on the fiber. That wasn't meant to be. We did get a beautiful angora wether who has so much personality. He was a bottle baby. We got another angora wether who was a cripple. He passed away this winter because of a bad heart. About 1/2 of our herd were bottle babies and one syringe baby (we had to feed her by mouth with a large syringe-no needle). We have dairy wethers that were rescued from a goat dairy culling. We have pygmies who were retired from a breeding farm and some other assorted goats. All have personalities and know their names and have individual food likes and dislikes. Word just got out that we love goats and will take care of them and not put them on the bbq or freezer and before we knew it, we had as much as we could handle. With the goats and 4 horses, our hay bill is our largest expense right after our rent. Michelle in NV
