Guest guest
Hello- I'm Mary in NJ and just joined the group. I'm not a vegetarian but have been trying to eat more meals that are vegetarian. I'm just learn receipes and trying them. I was recently at someone's house who grows Japanese pumpkins. He cut the pumpkins into thirds and microwaved it, it was great. We ate it just like that with nothing on it, it was sweet. Oh, we ate skin as well and he save the seeds to roast and add to other dishes. Guest guest
He only called it japanese pumpkin but I looked up kabocha and it looks just like it. We didn't put anything on it. Just washed it really good, cut it in thirds, cleaned out seeds and microwaved for 5 minutes in a bowl. It had so much flavor I really don't think you need seasoning. When I looked it up on the interne,t I found out it's only 30 calories per cup.... my new great food. --- On Sun, 5/31/09, bea pix <beapix wrote: bea pix <beapix Re: New to the group/Japanese pumpkin Sunday, May 31, 2009, 12:13 PM are you talking about kabocha? orange inside, green outside? always mean to try that! what flavorings, if any, were used, do you know? -- http://wheatlessand meatless. blogspot. com/ WHEATLESS AND MEATLESS Fine Flavors From The Gluten-Free Vegetarian
