Guest guest
Now I see on the label of lotions, shampoo, bath products........... " this finished products not tested on animals " . What does that mean? All the ingredients in the item are tested on animals? Is that sentence supposed to make you feel better, maybe make you NOT stop and think. They didn't have my regular brand of omega-3 gummies in the store so I thought I'd look again at the other brands (hard to find a veg. version). So, I find this one that says " 100% vegetarian source " and I think great. I double check the ingredients. Sure, the omega-3 is from a vegetarian source but the capusle has gelatin. Honestly, if you are going to eat a gelatin cap do you really care about the source of the omega? Paula (now out of omega-3 gummies for the boys so they are getting even more hemp and flax and walnuts...not so bad)
Guest guest
I've wondered about that, too. Maybe they're covering their butts about the ingredients they get from suppliers, like Paul Mitchell or Bath and Body Works can't control what the suppliers do or what companies the suppliers get the ingredients from. I've never seen a label that indicated that none of the ingredients were tested on animals. And I know Loreal will pull the trick of labeling one product not tested on animals, but they're one of the biggest animal testers out there. I will say absolutely nothing about PETA's goals, ideals, and policies, (and this isn't the place) but I do look at their caring consumer lists when I am thinking about buying new shampoo, bath stuff, or makeup (and Sephora isn't always right about what they say about companies that engage in animal testing). I notice they've always praised White Rain, and the stuff is cheap, but I like it for the most part. Apparently, White Rain has never, ever engaged in animal testing. I use Almay or Revlon makeup when I buy at the drugstore, and then other brands from Sephora that I have researched in advance and know that they are not animal testers. It has always bothered me that my shampoo bottle says that, though. (Paul Mitchell) Audrey S. Guest guest
I know that ANDE (All Natural Diverse and Eco-Friendly) Cosmetics are never animal tested, and the ingredients are never animal tested. www.ANDECosmetics.com ! I really take seriously truth in labeling but there are no real rules that hold my counterparts to the same level of honesty. The idea is to tell the people what they want to hear not what they NEED to hear. Even Compact for Safe Cosmetic Signers (which my company signed) does not dictate that the product or ingredients not be animal tested so I would really encourage all of you to look to smaller companies for your products because most of us started our companies because we wanted to change things for the better.. Peace to All!
