Guest guest
As a newbie vegan since March 1, I haven't experimented with this yet, (this thread got me thinking) however, in pre-vegan days I ordered seasonings and made my own italians, brats....in patties. I don't see why it wouldn't work with patties of TVP, or combinations of mashed beans, or eggplant or potatoes or rice or many other ingredients mixed with bread crumbs, flour or oats or oat bran, and adding say, finely chopped onions, celery, bell pepper... The seasoning company I order from has 9 or 10 various seasonings and is called " Rosario's " in West Virginia - a business that's been operated out of a home for years...so " mom " , Donna, answers the phone. All seasonings are gluten and sugar free. For more information online: www.wvgourmetfoods.com , then click on " Herbs and Spices " or you can also select " Rosario's Mixes " on the drop-down menu. Either way you'll get to the next page and see what they offer with ordering instructions. Can order by phone at 304-622-2602; by mail by printing out an order form online, including your selections and attaching/including your check or money order OR by emailing Rosario's at " sausagemix " with your order and they'll send your selections along with an invoice. No, I have no stock in the company, LOL, but am a very satisfied customer...with none of their fabulous seasonings in my pantry right now! I need to make an order! The seasonings are wonderful and include all sorts of Italian seasonings - sweet, mild, medium, hot along with other seasoning mixes. My personal favorites are the Country Breakfast (yummy) and Sweet and Mild Italian Seasonings. I'm finding seasonings and condiments can make all the difference in transforming a bland meal into a fabulously tasty one! Judy in Ohio P.S. Here's one homemade recipe for a Breakfast Seasoning. Add to one pound of whatever you choose to make breakfast patties...TVP, mashed beans or potato, eggplant or combination of zillions of other ingredients. Enjoy! BREAKFAST PATTIE SEASONING: 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. rubbed sage 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1/4 tsp. thyme or marjoram 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
