Guest guest
I just wanted to share this experience since I have been seeing so many who have family members that are less than supportive of their veggie life style. My oldest brother came past yesterday so that my husband could help him with a project. He lives 2 hours away and out of habit I invited him to dine with the family. (I fully expected to hear the same- no way, I am a man I need meat- yadda, yadda, yadda...) To my surprise he said yes! He asked what was for dinner and I told him " asparagus, cranberry pecan salad, succotash, sausage and peppers and fresh pineapple " . He says " sausage huh? Finally gave up that vegetarian madness, well yes I would love to dine with you. " He hung up before I could tell him that it was a veggie sausage. Well, they ran late so I fed the kids and made my brother and husband their plates and put them up until they got home. (My brother is an executive chef and has owned several successful restaurants before retiring) Well he sits down and starts to eat. He gets to the sausage and says- " what type of sausage is this? Is it turkey? " I said " no it's a veggie brat, that I seasoned and grilled " . He stopped, looked at me, and said " Well Hel* this is good give me another one! " He later told my husband he understood why he gave up meat, my brother has chronic stomach problems and is usually in great pain after a large meal, he said that for the first time- he was full but not in pain. He asked for some recipes that he might give this vegetarian thing a try. I told him to join the group- so if you are out the P- welcome!
