Tee and Judy,

I remember going to one of those stores when my parents lived in central

Florida. (I think it was in Leesburg).  There aren't any anywhere near where

I live--I don't think St. Louis has one, does it??

I have not had pork rinds (the real ones) in a couple of years or more.  I truly

love that flavor and texture. (Does that mean I am a closet Southerner--I also

go for (cheese) grits, boiled peanuts, collards and sweet potato pie!)  I gave

up pork rinds because I know how " bad " they are, but I dare not think of them

or else I want to get some!

Now I learn there are " vegetarian " facsimilies of these.  I still am terrified

of MSG,

but maybe I would brave it for just a TASTE of something that reminds me of

the stuff I used to buy to nibble on during long, long car trips when I had to

drive

during the " night hours " so my family could get to a vacation spot " faster " ..

We don't do those " drive all night " trips anymore, and I have sworn off not only

pork rinds but nearly ALL junk stuff from the truck stops and gas stations when

we travel.  I try to get DH to do likewise--we seem to keep in a better mood and

feel

much better after hours on the road when we drink only water and eat only

healthy

or mostly-healthy foods.  I definitely feel better when traveling if I only eat

vegetables

and fruit for meals and snacks!

Judy, do you know of any Adventist book stores (with the food stuff) that might

be

within a not-too-far driving distance from me?  I live near Springfield,

Illinois--right in the

middle of the state.  We are close enough to St. Louis, MO., but about 4+ hours

from Chicago area.  I have relatives near Indianapolis, IN, if that also helps.

Thanks, if you

have any other info for me!

Blessings!
