Guest guest
> Can you freeze greens? If so tell me how to do it. > > Thanks for any suggestions > Alvii Hi, Alvii -- You already got a great answer to your question, and I'll add another tip. I grow my own greens and always have lots of big, kinda tough outer leaves that nonetheless have massive amounts of vitamins in them. I wash them well and put them on cookie sheets in the oven (it's an older stove with an always-on pilot light) to dry. When they're well dried I just crumble the leafy part and store the crumbles in a bag in the freezer to add to soup. The tough stems go into the compost so they can go around and become tender new vegetables. Your mom was right -- eat your greens! ~ irene
Guest guest
I simply wash my greens and pat them dry then throw them in a Ziplock and Freeze them raw. When I use them I just dump them out of the bag into the sautee pan and use them like fresh greens!
