Guest guest
Hello all, My name is Sue and I live in the north of England. I have 2 daughters (both vegetarians) and a husband (not a vegetarian). I enjoy cooking simple one pot meals, whereas my husband can use every pot in the house for a meal! My traditional recipe that I share with everyone is pizza dough. Pizza Dough 1 and a half cups flour (your choice) 1/2 tablespoon baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 tsp honey (or maple syrup if you are vegan) 2 tablespoons oil 1 cup warm water mix all the dry ingredients together and make a hole in the middle. Then add the wet ones, however, only add half the water at first. Mix or knead together. Add the rest of the water, if necessary - sometimes I need the whole cup sometimes I don't. Put oil on your hands and oil your pan, then spread the dough out evenly. Top with your favourite toppings. If you use gluten free flour for this, such as brown rice flour, then you will need to add some xanthan gum, which does the job of gluten, but is gluten free (bind and rise). I have never used gluten free flour for this, but I am pretty sure it would work with the xanthan gum. Probably you'd need about 3/4 of a teaspoon.
