Silly question - steamers and asparagus

Mother used to cut fresh asparagus on the diagonal, steam till crisp-tender,

then toss with a little bit of sesame oil and soy sauce. She'd refrigerate them

till cool (even overnight plus), then take to pot luck dinners or serve to

company. Asparagus are really easy to grow (first year roots don't give

asparagus but after that, the plants will give you lots of yummy asparagus).

They are great producers and will produce for years without replanting. Jeanne
