Guest guest
This is weird -- I don't know if I'm gaining more sensitive tastebuds or if my mother is losing her sense of taste! One instance -- I put smoked paprika on deviled eggs (quite a bit of it, in fact) -- I thought they were great, but mom couldn't tell the difference between the smoked paprika and the plain paprika (which I think has no taste whatsoever). Second instance -- we had taco salads last night, so I brought my own TVP taco filling, already seasoned with my fake beef bouillon and taco seasoning. She tasted it, said yes, it tastes good (and she really liked the texture) and it just needed some taco seasoning. I had already put taco seasoning in it, I thought maybe a little TOO much....hmmm.... So... is it me or is it her? Have my taste buds changed in the two years I've changed how I eat, or is she just losing it? (maybe in more ways than one?) Audrey S. Guest guest
As we age we DO tend to lose some of our taste and smell for things! Taste buds can wear out or be damanged by hot liquids and part of taste is what we smell.
