Guest guest
Hi All, I am not only new to the group, but also a new vegetarian. It has been a decision years in the making, but I finally took the leap on January 11. Though I've included non-meat meals in my repertoire for some time - mainly for health reasons/lower fat - I am feeling a little overwhelmed! For me, the decision is no biggie, but I don't want to make my personal choice an issue or sticking point with family and the world in general. I am a firm believer in each following their own path, meaning I don't try convert others to my way of thinking ... even though, of course, I'm right! LOL I am married, 53, a mom and grandmother. It is only hubby and me at home, but he is a dedicated carnivore, so my being veggie will be a balancing act. My extended family are close and we spend much time together over holidays and summers at the family beach house. None are vegetarian. Hubby and kids will be considerate if not actually supportive, but siblings and parents are another story. I can hear it now, " You always have to be different " , blah, blah, blah. It's true, I am a little different, as you'll see if you visit my website, but I really try not to knock people over the head with it. Long story short, I am happy to be here and look forward to not only recipes, but advice, tips and the gathering of kindred spirits. Oh, and experiences with veggie weight loss (or gain!) are appreciated. Thanks for inviting me.
