Guest guest
As much as I prefer my own cooking, I do buy frozen meals to have at work in case I don't have time to cook, or forget my lunch. I've learned that lots of rice or noodle dishes that look like they're vegetarian actually have chicken fat or chicken broth in them. (And it's unpleasant to take a bite and be surprised -- I did that one time and learned my lesson, I tossed the meal and bought a sandwich but my appetite was kind of gone!) Even the Weight Watchers cheese pizza has gelatin in it. Baked Lays BBQ flavored chips contain chicken fat. Lean Cuisine has a couple of vegetarian meals, and Healthy Choice just put out a new line that has a couple of vegetarian meals (and a couple that don't contain meat but have chicken broth or fat). I've burned myself out on Weight Watchers Smart ones veggie lasagna, but it's really good for a frozen meal. Kashi has several vegetarian meals that are labeled vegetarian, and I always love Amy's Kitchen stuff -- but these two brands are more expensive than the Lean Cuisine and Weight Watchers -- I stock up when they're on sale for $3.50 or less per meal. I did notice that one of the brands of frozen veggies with sauce in them that come in 2-serving packages contains whey in with the margarine, why I don't know (I can't remember which brand, since I'm ovo-lacto, but vegans watch out).
