Seems like the waxed bottles and lips were around when I was a kid. Cady

necklaces, that butterfinger type thing called Chik'O'Sticks, Planters peanut

brittle type vbar, I loved fizzies and I used to put them on my tongue and about

ate a whole in it

Laura - 80's novelty foods :)

Laura -- I LOVED the wax candy lips!! I think it was just the novelty of

them... Also, the little wax bottles, where you bit off the top and got a

mouthful of sugar water and food coloring -- those were great! Tang was

nasty, though I did try it because of the astronauts. My dad once bought me

a package of freeze-dried (I guess) ice cream that the astronauts

purportedly ate. I wanted very much to be an astronaut (or a paleontologist

or Nancy Drew, depended on the day) so I ate the stuff, even though it was

nasty -- I even said I liked it. Do they still make Pop Rocks?? Those were

so much fun!

It's funny how kid tastes change with the generations. I teach first grade and

as far as they're concerned, sour is the way to go - the more sour, the better!

I remember when it was all about the fizz!!

ChickOsticks were awesome.  We couldn't buy them here in PA but my grand parents

always brought them back from FL when they went in the winter, boxes of them so

they lasted a good long time!  My grand parents were great, always had freezer

pops for us too.  Man I miss them.
