Guest guest
The best vets we have had have told us real food is better for the dogs than the commercial stuff (eating that is what always caused the diarrhea or vomiting in our house). My older dog has a cast iron stomach and will eat any real food without a problem. The little one is more sensitive. Soy can create problems. Now you know, so make sure he doesn't get tofu again. My vet said the other foods that can cause problems are corn & wheat. If they do in your dog, avoid them. My big one who can eat anything without an upset stomach will get an ear infection if she eats salmon. So, we now avoid that. It has taken awhile, and being consistent, but mine now sit outside the kitchen when I cook and wait until I have eaten before they get something, but if it hits the floor, all bets are off. My husband suggested that we just put him in his crate before we sit down to eat (I knew I kept him around for something LOL). I just feel badly for him, as he is on your heels the instant you set foot in the kitchen poor thing has been pampered his whole 10 year long life and he is such a scavenger! Who knew? Dpont give it to him. My one cat loves tofu and will eat a bit when I open a package. It doesn't bother her but the other cat runs from it. We recently adopted my mom's dog, and last night my 2 1/2 year old kept throwing her tofu on the floor after partially chewing it up (yesterday I was actually glad to be a working mom! LOL) Well, this morning he was up very early and did his business in the house a few times. Then, when I got home from work, his crate was all soiled (along with his precious white curl coat) and he has thrown up twice, both times had tofu chunks not digested. So a thought occured to me that he probably shouldn't have had the tofu... ? Cassie
