Guest guest
Someone wrote in a while back and said that they used the Marshmellow Fluff to make the Rice Krispie Squares and that it worked well. The Marshmellow Fluff is all vegetarian and has no gelatin in it. You find it in jars near the chocolate chips and evaporated milk in the grocery store. Hopefully the person that shared this will give the measurements of each ingredient used so others can enjoy it too. My DH (not vegetarian) loves them but I won't let the kids eat it when it's made with " real " marshmallows. I'm thinking that it could cool a bit then you could add the rice krispies then let it set (in a pan prepped the way you would do the squares). What do you think? Also, I add the hot mixture to the mixer a little at a time, letting it whisk a little before adding more, taking about 30-45 seconds to add all of the mixture to the mixing bowl. Good luck and be careful it's very hot obviously > > --- On Fri, 12/12/08, Allison Sturgill <allice98 wrote: > > > > > > > > > > > > do you think that I would be able to heat the mixture up to 240 making > > a double boiler > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Yep, that was me. I'm not a big measure-er, but I think I used 3-4 cups of Rice Krispies, 1/2 stick of margarine, and a whole 8-oz jar of fluff. Add a little vanilla if you want. Mmmm... this is making me want to make some again!! I prefer to eat my Rice Krispy treats warm, with a spoon! Audrey S. Guest guest
Fluff definitely has egg whites in it, though, so not vegan. Audrey S. Guest guest
Thanks for asking the question Judy! Thanks for the measurements. I'll give it a try...I like my rice krispie squares soft and warm too. DH likes them super hard (and cold). Come to think of it we are very different in a lot of ways.
